Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Petersburg, VA 23805 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Unit: Tele Neuro Unit 5W (30-35 beds)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN (must reside 50+ miles from facility)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (includes every other weekend and holiday)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/4/2026)
• Interview: No interview required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide available)
• EPIC EHR experience preferred
• Ability to float to Medical-Surgical Telemetry units as needed
• Required attire: navy blue, white, or combination scrubs

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans
• Safely administer medications and follow hospital policy
• Coordinate patient care and serve as a liaison for patients and families
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms (Monitor Tech support available)
• Care for adult patients with CVA/TIA, peritoneal dialysis, hypertension, diabetes, and other medical-surgical conditions
• Operate clinical equipment: Alaris pumps, LifePak, Hoyerlift, Kangaroo pumps, PCA pumps
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other Medical-Surgical Telemetry units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety and privacy standards
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
