Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 36 hours per week
• Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
• Unit: 6800 MS/Tele (Complex Care Unit)
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Patient Ratios: Nights – 1:6
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Float: Required to Med/Surg units

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand to submit)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Clinical skills: blood product administration, central line care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, isolation precautions, ortho trauma, oxygen administration, pacemaker management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IVs, surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, total joint replacements, tracheostomy care, rapid response/code teams, wound care/wound vac
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients
• Flexibility to float to other Med/Surg units as needed

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Manage a patient load of up to 6 patients per night shift
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and conduct patient assessments
• Document patient care using Epic electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
• Deliver care for complex medical, orthopedic, and long-term care patients
• Respond to rapid response and code situations
• Float to other Med/Surg units as required
• Complete orientation and required modules prior to start
