• Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (Upstate New York nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Setting: Operating Room (OR), Main Campus & Ambulatory Surgery Center
• Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 5/3/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• On-Call: 1 night per week; every 3rd to 4th weekend
• Weekend/Holiday: On-call rotation; 1 holiday per year if not already assigned
• Floating: Required (to Ambulatory Surgery Center as needed)
• Orientation: 2 days
• Documentation System: EPIC EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York RN license or proof of application (New York healthcare jobs)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience as an Operating Room Registered Nurse
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the OR specialty
• EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required)
• Circulating nurse experience required; scrub nurse experience preferred
• Reliable transportation (public transportation not available)
• Ability to provide nursing care to patients ages 6 months to 100+

OR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care as a circulating nurse in the operating room
• Assist with various surgical procedures (excluding cardiac, transplants, neuro, and gastric bypass)
• Float to Ambulatory Surgery Center as needed based on case load and experience
• Participate in on-call and weekend rotations
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care and procedures using EPIC EMR
• Follow all infection control, safety, and dress code policies (scrubs provided)
• Assist with IV starts and patient transport as needed
