Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Harvey, Illinois 60426 (Chicago metro area)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (06:45 - 19:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Telemetry (East 6)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 (may go up to 1:6)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required as needed
• Charting System: Epic EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry RN experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Proficiency in rhythm strip interpretation (must pass EKG strip test at orientation)
• Experience with chronic ventilator patients and EKG monitoring
• Preferred: Experience with cardiac drips (dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Two professional references (including one from a direct supervisor/manager)
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off during contract

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor acute changes in adult and geriatric patients on a busy telemetry unit
• Interpret and document cardiac rhythms; respond to arrhythmias and initiate interventions
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services)
• Provide patient education and support to patients and families
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Float to other units as required to support patient care needs
• Participate in rapid response and emergency situations
