Key Job Details – ICU Registered Nurse (Travel Assignment)
- Location: Alamosa, CO 81101 (Colorado healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 – 06:00)
- Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed hours)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: Yes, between main campus and sister facility (within 15 minutes)
- Scrub Color: Employee preference
- Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required
- Previous travel nurse experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of Colorado or compact state)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
- Experience with MediTech Expanse or similar charting systems
- Ability to float between ICU, ED, and Med/Surg units
- Proficient in advanced critical care procedures: para/thoracentesis, intubation, central line and arterial line placement, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ventilator care
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31)
- Two supervisor references from the last 18 months required
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care across ICU, ED, and Med/Surg units
- Float between main campus and sister facility as needed
- Perform advanced critical care procedures, including ventilator management, central and arterial line care, and rapid response participation
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; respond to emergencies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services)
- Document care accurately using MediTech Expanse
- Maintain infection prevention standards and adhere to isolation precautions
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
