- Location: Peoria, IL 61637
- Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical Acute Care Unit (18 beds, primarily private rooms)
- Job Type: Travel RN Contract
- Start Date: January 19, 2026
- End Date: April 20, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Fri/Sat for nights)
- Holiday Requirement: Per facility rotation policy
- Charting System: EPIC
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs (no pediatric prints)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or proof of application in process
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital experience (Medical/Surgical nursing preferred)
- Ability to titrate Heparin drips
- Must pass comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus)
- Strong IV start skills and ability to utilize unit resources
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-focused care to general medical and surgical patients
- Manage nurse-to-patient ratio of 5-6:1 during night shifts
- Titrate Heparin drips and monitor patient status
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team (hospitalist, intensivist, RT, pharmacy)
- Document patient care and interventions in EPIC EMR system
- Participate in unit orientation and ongoing nursing education
- Float to other hospital units as needed
- Work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation
