Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Gadsden, Alabama (35903) – Alabama healthcare jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)

• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 6:1

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Compact or Alabama state license accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the healthcare facility

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
• Float to other hospital units as needed
