Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee (37404) – Tennessee nursing jobs
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: 4 East, 30-bed medical-surgical unit
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Documentation System: Meditech EMR
• Dress Code: Navy Blue Scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Strong teamwork, compassion, and communication skills
• Experience with medical-surgical equipment (IV pumps, SCDs, walkers)
• Clinical proficiency in caring for patients with respiratory, renal, and GI illnesses, telemetry, CVCs, indwelling catheters, and heparin drips
• Ability to work 4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule and participate in holiday rotation

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in a 30-bed Med/Surg unit
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including clinical coordinators, unit secretaries, patient care techs, and case managers
• Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate patient documentation
• Float to other units as needed per facility rotation policy
• Maintain excellent patient experience standards and effective communication
• Comply with all hospital and unit policies and guidelines
