Medical/Surgical RN Job Details

• Location: Harvey, Illinois 60426 (Chicago metro area)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/13/2026)
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts per week (06:45 – 19:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (E5)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required to other units as needed
• Charting System: Epic EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Ability to pass EKG strip test at orientation (for Telemetry nursing positions)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Two professional references (one from a direct supervisor or manager)
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off during contract

RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a busy Medical/Surgical unit
• Manage a patient load of up to 6 patients per shift
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and deliver patient education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other hospital units as required
• Accurately document all care using Epic EMR system
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
