Travel Nurse Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel RN
• Location: Rochester, NY 14626 (New York nursing jobs)
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Unit: GI Overflow Med/Surg Tele (14 beds)
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Float Requirement: Flexibility to float as needed
• Scrubs: Navy blue/white

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• EPIC EMR charting experience required
• Proficiency in IV placement, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team participation, peripheral line care, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Open to first-time travel nurses
• Ability to work every other weekend and float to other units as needed
• Not accepting local candidates within 75 miles

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Tele overflow unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response/code situations
• Initiate and manage IVs, administer oxygen therapy, and perform non-invasive airway management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation services
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
• Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions
• Float to other hospital units as required based on patient census and facility needs
