  • Assignment Length: 14 weeks
  • Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Unit Floating: Required within ICU, Brain Health, and LTC Ventilator units
  • Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license (required at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (HICU requires 2 years)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications
  • Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system
  • Strong clinical skills in ventilator management, telemetry, and care of complex medical patients
  • Professional references required
  • First-time travel nurses welcome
  • Attendance required for all orientation days (Tuesday–Friday, day shift)
  • Zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences

ICU RN Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care in ICU step-down, Brain Health, and Long-Term Care Ventilator units
  • Monitor and assess patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, including ventilator-dependent patients
  • Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform advanced wound care
  • Operate specialty equipment such as G-tubes, PICC lines, chest tubes, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
  • Accurately document patient care and interventions using Cerner
  • Float between units as needed, within RN scope of practice
  • Participate in ongoing education and complete required virtual modules
