Charlottesville Nursing Job Details

• Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 20, 2026
• Shift: Day shifts, 4x10-hour (Mon 7am-5pm, Wed 8am-6pm, Thurs-Fri 11am-9pm)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call: 4-6 call shifts per 6-week schedule, including two 12-hour weekend call shifts
• Unit: Operating Room - 2039 (34 ORs, advanced robotics, hybrid ORs)
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state; pending license accepted, must be in-hand before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• Ortho scrub and total joint experience required
• Ability to scrub and circulate in the OR
• Epic charting experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from facility
• References required

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care for diverse surgical cases: ortho, neuro, spine, ENT, plastics, ophthalmology, pediatrics, robotics, general surgery, trauma, transplant, GU/GYN, cardiovascular, thoracic, and more
• Scrub and circulate for procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic surgeries, thyroidectomy, Whipple, and total joint replacements
• Participate in call rotation, including weekend and overnight shifts
• Ensure strict infection control and accurate specimen handling/labeling
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: radiology, pharmacy, support staff
• Float within scope of practice as needed throughout the facility
• Maintain precise documentation using Epic or other clinical charting systems
• Complete orientation and required training modules
