Emergency Room RN Job Details

  • Location: Baltimore, MD 21201 (Maryland healthcare jobs)
  • Setting: Emergency Department (ED)
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: January 26, 2026
  • End Date: April 27, 2026
  • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Employment Type: Travel Nursing
  • Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday required

ER RN Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (ER RN jobs)
  • Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license required
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS (AHA only)
  • Experience with Epic charting system preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • Ability to float within hospital units as needed
  • 2 professional references from recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
  • Permanent residence must be 50+ miles from facility (travel nurse requirement)

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in the Emergency Department
  • Perform triage, assessment, and rapid intervention for diverse medical emergencies
  • Administer emergency medications and manage acute trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and behavioral health cases
  • Utilize advanced clinical skills: central line care, chest tube management, intubation, procedural sedation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response)
  • Float to other hospital units within scope of experience
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
  • Follow infection control and isolation protocols
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
