ER RN Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Facility: Emergency Room, Level 2 Trauma Center
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• End Date: April 25, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights, every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Orientation: Every other Monday

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience in a similar size ED
• Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Active Virginia or Compact RN License (valid at time of submission)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (or ATCN/ATLC), NIH Stroke Scale
• Cerner EMR experience highly preferred
• All requested time off must be submitted with application
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible
• COVID/Flu vaccine declinations accepted with approved documentation

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy Emergency Department
• Respond rapidly to trauma and medical emergencies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize advanced clinical skills in assessment, triage, and intervention
• Accurately document care using Cerner EMR
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
• Work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend
