Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location: North Austin Medical Center, Austin, TX – Texas nursing jobs
Unit: Labor & Delivery (32 beds, 4th floor)
Contract Type: Travel RN contract
Start Date: January 12, 2026
End Date: April 13, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
Hours per Week: 36
On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
Active Registered Nurse license (Texas or compact state)
BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
Intermediate fetal monitoring skills
Competency in SVE and C-Section circulation
Experience in high-volume (Level IV) Labor & Delivery units preferred
Internal monitor placement competency is a plus
Strong teamwork and positive attitude

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care in Labor & Delivery, prioritizing safety and comfort
Monitor and assess fetal and maternal status using advanced clinical equipment (Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, US)
Assist and circulate for C-Sections, SVDs, cerclages, and TOLAC procedures
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to maintain optimal patient ratios (1:1 or 1:2)
Document patient care using Meditech EMR system
Follow unit policies, dress code (navy blue scrubs), and attendance standards
Contribute to a supportive, award-winning nursing team environment
