Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Albany, GA 31701 (Southwest Georgia nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN
• Unit: Acute Care 2 – Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
• Contract Duration: 17 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 5/4/2026)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Charting System: MEDITECH EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or compact state
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification (AHA) required
• Experience with MEDITECH EMR preferred
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (strict radius rule)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to diverse Med/Surg populations
• Manage patient loads with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Collaborate with nurse aides and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Float to other acute care, cardio units, or EC for acute care patient holds as needed
• Document patient care accurately using MEDITECH EMR
• Participate in general and unit-specific orientation, including EMR training
• Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and safety protocols
