Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active RN license (Registered Nurse in North Carolina or compact state)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum); BSN preferred
  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent CVICU nursing experience
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications (CCRN preferred)
  • Strong critical thinking, clinical, and communication skills
  • Ability to float per scheduled rotation
  • Travel nurses must reside at least 60 miles from Hickory, NC

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality cardiovascular nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU
  • Monitor and manage patients with CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid interventions
  • Operate advanced cardiovascular equipment, including Impella, IABP, and CRRT
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Document patient care accurately using Cerner EHR
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
  • Maintain a professional, compassionate approach in all patient interactions
