Travel Nurse Job Details

Location: Hickory, NC 28601 (North Carolina CVICU jobs)
Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
Start Date: January 4, 2026
End Date: April 5, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00-07:00)
Hours per Week: 36 (weekly guarantee)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or as needed
Call Requirement: None
Patient Ratio: 2:1, occasional 1:1
Unit Beds: 8
Electronic Health Record: Cerner
Dress Code: Professional scrubs (any color)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Registered Nurse in North Carolina or compact state)
Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum); BSN preferred
Minimum 1.5 years of recent CVICU nursing experience
Current ACLS and BLS certifications (CCRN preferred)
Strong critical thinking, clinical, and communication skills
Ability to float per scheduled rotation
Travel nurses must reside at least 60 miles from Hickory, NC

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality cardiovascular nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU
Monitor and manage patients with CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid interventions
Operate advanced cardiovascular equipment, including Impella, IABP, and CRRT
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Document patient care accurately using Cerner EHR
Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
Maintain a professional, compassionate approach in all patient interactions
