ICU RN Job Details – Vermont Healthcare Jobs
- Assignment Length: Up to 16 weeks (potential extension)
- Start Date: January 12, 2026
- End Date: May 4, 2026
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: Surgical ICU (SICU), with floating to Medical ICU (MICU) as needed
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site
- Location: Burlington, VT 05401 – Vermont nursing jobs
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending licenses considered
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience in a large (500+ bed) teaching hospital
- Prior travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
- Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS required before start)
- EPIC charting experience within the past 2 years (required)
- CCRN certification preferred
- Experience with hemodynamic devices and caring for post-cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma-level 1, general surgery, neurosurgery, and overflow MICU patients
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions for flu only)
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle required; all-season or snow tires recommended November–April
- Willingness to work every other weekend and 2 of 3 major holidays if scheduled
- Flexible scheduling; block schedules not permitted
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the Surgical ICU
- Float to Medical ICU (MICU) as needed to support patient care
- Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions, including post-surgical, trauma, and neurosurgical cases
- Utilize advanced hemodynamic monitoring and critical care equipment
- Document patient care using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Adapt to changing unit needs and maintain flexibility in scheduling
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development
