Job Details – Hawaii Emergency Room RN Travel Assignment

• Location: Honokaa, Hawaii (96727) – Big Island healthcare jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• End Date: May 11, 2026
• Duration: 15 weeks
• Shift: Variable – 8 or 12-hour shifts, 80 hours per 2-week period (shift determined by manager)
• On Call: One on-call shift per roster
• Weekend Coverage: At least one weekend off per roster
• Hours per Week: 36

ER RN Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Hawaii nursing license required by start date (apply if not currently licensed)
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, BLS, NIHSS (mandatory); NCI and Procedural Sedation (preferred)
• Proficient IV skills; experience with Stroke, STEMI, and Trauma activations
• Knowledge of core measures and National Patient Safety Goals
• Familiarity with AIDET and Press Ganey patient service standards
• Must arrive Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Efficiently multitask and work independently as an ER RN
• Operate Meditech EMR, Life Pack Defibrillators, Braun IV pumps, Philips Monitoring Systems, and Motorola Radio Systems
• Respond to Stroke, STEMI, and Trauma activations
• Float to other units/departments as assigned, based on clinical competency
• Maintain compliance with core measures and National Patient Safety Goals
• Provide exceptional patient-centered care and customer service
