CVICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Start Date: February 9, 2026
• End Date: May 11, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Rotating Day (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) and Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) shifts; 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Patient Ratio: 1:1–2
• Setting: Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
• Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required)
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU or CVICU experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Proficient in IV start, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, PA lines
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required (one from manager/director or leadership)

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to adult patients with complex cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular conditions
• Operate and manage advanced equipment: ventilators, ECMO, CRRT, IABP, Impella, VADs
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic parameters
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Assist with procedures: chest tube insertion/removal, arterial line management, post-cardiac surgery care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Float to other units as required
• Participate in rotating holidays and weekend coverage
