• Facility Setting: Acute Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Unit (51 beds)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: August 23, 2026
• Contract Duration: 32 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
• Floating: May float to similar units as needed
• EMR: Epic documentation system
• Free onsite parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Vermont or compact state)
• Minimum 5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience OR 3 years of Telemetry experience
• Prior travel RN experience required (at least 2 completed travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities OR experience at a University of Vermont Health Network acute care facility)
• Recent Epic EMR experience (within the past 2 years) required
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required prior to start
• Telemetry certification preferred
• Peripheral IV placement skills preferred
• Reliable personal transportation required (no public transportation; winter tires recommended November–April)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with medical and post-surgical needs, including telemetry monitoring
• Apply, interpret, and respond to telemetry strips
• Perform bedside procedures such as NG tube insertion and peripheral IV placement
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members (CNAs, LPNs, ancillary staff) for seamless patient care
• Document all patient care and interventions accurately using Epic EMR
• Support unit teamwork and foster a positive, community-focused environment
• Float to similar units as needed
• Adhere to professional dress code and facility protocols
