Registered Nurse Job Details

  • Location: Tyler, Texas 75701 (East Texas nursing jobs)
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 26, 2026 – End: April 27, 2026)
  • Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (10:30am – 9:00pm), Monday–Friday with rotating day off
  • Call: 1–2 shifts every 6 weeks
  • Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Unit: Operating Room (14 rooms, daily census ~45)
  • Charting System: Epic EMR

OR RN Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Proficient in Ortho, General, Neuro, Vascular, and Urology surgeries
  • Experience with Epic charting system
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Preferred: Experience with Davinci Robots, endovascular, and ophthalmic (eye) procedures
  • Must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care for a variety of surgical procedures including orthopedic, general, neuro, vascular, and urology cases
  • Support advanced surgical technologies such as robotic-assisted (Davinci), endovascular, and ophthalmic surgeries
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
  • Participate in scheduled call rotation (1–2 shifts every 6 weeks)
  • Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
