Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (Registered Nurse jobs in Virginia)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, Handle with Care, NIH Stroke Scale
• Strong clinical skills in telemetry, critical thinking, and judgment
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-stress healthcare setting
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
• Consent to random drug screening and completion of criminal questionnaire/consent form
• Must reside at least 60 miles from facility to qualify as a travel nurse

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective nursing care to diverse patient populations on the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, treatments, and post-operative care (including orthopedic procedures and total joint replacements)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Meditech EHR
• Float to other units or travel within a 25-mile radius as needed
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to facility dress code (scrubs of any color permitted; no casual wear)
