Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license or compact state nursing license
• Current BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Med/Surg nursing or related specialty
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver routine and complex patient care in the medical-surgical unit
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health conditions and available resources
• Delegate tasks and assignments to other healthcare team members
• Support psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
