CVICU RN Job Details

• Location: Hickory, NC 28601
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: January 19, 2026 – End: April 20, 2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 (3 shifts per week)
• Unit Size: 8 beds
• Patient Ratio: 2:1, occasional 1:1
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or as needed
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner

CVICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent CVICU RN experience (post-orientation)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
• Active Registered Nurse license (RN license)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• CCRN certification (preferred)
• Strong clinical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to float to other units per scheduled rotation
• Professional attire (scrub color: any, must be professional)

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU
• Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac conditions, including CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid procedures
• Operate advanced cardiac equipment such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EHR
• Participate in scheduled orientation and ongoing clinical training
• Float to other nursing units as needed based on facility requirements
