• Facility Setting: One Day Surgery – Post-op for surgery and cath lab
• Employment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 07:30 AM – 07:30 PM (12-hour day shifts)
• Weekly Hours: 36 (guaranteed)
• Weekend Hours: None
• Call Requirements: None
• Unit Size: 20 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech

PACU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Iowa or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of PACU or post-anesthesia care experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult)
• Background checks: Iowa SING BG, criminal and child abuse portions
• Drug test: 10 panel including opiates
• Recent titers: MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB (within last 12 months)
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Scrub color: Any (no hoodies permitted)

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care for surgical and cath lab patients (geriatric, adult, pediatric)
• Monitor and assess patients during recovery, ensuring safety and comfort
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for individualized patient care
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech EHR
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and mandatory certifications
• Float to other nursing units as required
