Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Florence, Alabama (35630) – Northwest Alabama healthcare jobs
• Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit (9 beds)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/26/2026 – End: 4/27/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Hours per Week: 36 (Weekly guaranteed)
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Electronic Health Record: Centricity, Meditech
• Dress Code: Ceil Blue Scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Active Alabama RN license
• Required Certifications: ACLS or ALS-OB, NRP, EFM, BLS
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and clinical assessment
• Strong emergency response and postpartum care skills
• Excellent time management and adaptability
• Team player with strong communication skills and empathy

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
• Monitor fetal well-being and respond to obstetric emergencies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care using Centricity and Meditech EHR systems
• Float to postpartum unit as needed
• Care for patients with diagnoses including normal spontaneous labor, preterm labor, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, placenta previa, placental abruption, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and postpartum hemorrhage
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and dress code
