  • Start Date: January 26, 2026
  • End Date: April 25, 2026
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Hours per Week: 36 (72 hours biweekly guaranteed)
  • Shift: 12-hour evening shifts (11:00am – 11:30pm)
  • On-Call: One 24-hour weekend shift/month, three night calls/month (11pm–7am), 30-minute response time required
  • Weekends & Holidays: Required
  • Float: Not required

PACU RN Qualifications

  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license (required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years recent PACU nursing experience
  • Experience caring for patients on drips and ventilators
  • Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC equivalency) – all required
  • Ability to pass ECG/Tele and Medication tests (one attempt only, 85% passing score)
  • Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
  • No local travelers (must reside more than 50 miles from facility)
  • Must not have worked for Beth Israel Lahey Health in any capacity within the last 6 months
  • All time-off requests must be presented at time of submission
  • At least 1 year of RN experience required

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to surgical patients in the PACU
  • Monitor and manage patients on intravenous drips and ventilators
  • Respond promptly to on-call requirements and clinical emergencies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and adhere to safety protocols
  • Participate in biweekly orientation and ongoing professional development
