Travel RN Job Details – Cardiac Telemetry
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry (Night Shift)
- Location: Wilmington, NC (28401) – North Carolina nursing jobs
- Contract Length: 13 to 26 weeks
- Shift: Night Shift, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Patient Ratio: 1:6-7
- Weekend Requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (every other weekend)
- Unit Orientation: 24 hours
- Scrubs: Navy (not provided)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license (NC or Compact RN license required at start)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Proficiency with cardiac drip titration (Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, etc.)
- Experience in Pre/Post Cardiac Cath and Cardiac Surgery, including sheath removal
- Central line and PICC line management skills
- Blood product administration experience
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and remote cardiac monitoring
- Epic charting experience preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- First-time travel nurses welcome
Cardiac Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult cardiac telemetry patients, including those with congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac cath procedures
- Monitor and manage cardiac drips; perform procedures such as sheath pulls, TR Bands, and Femstop
- Float to other hospital units or affiliate facilities as needed, based on census and skill set
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy
- Utilize Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
- Participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters
- Comply with all hospital policies, including call-off and fatigue management
- Engage in self-scheduling to meet unit needs
