ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Silver City, New Mexico 88061
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 01/19/2026 – End: 04/20/2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – including OB, CICU, SICU, MICU, and PICU cases
• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Orientation: 16 hours

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or Multi-State RN License (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience in a U.S. healthcare setting
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ACLS (AHA) certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
• Community hospital or rural healthcare experience preferred

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to ICU patients across multiple specialties (OB, CICU, SICU, MICU, PICU)
• Manage 2-3 ICU patients per shift, ensuring optimal nurse-to-patient ratios
• Utilize advanced critical care nursing skills: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, and IV therapies
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Phlebotomy, Radiology, and Pharmacy
• Float to other hospital units as needed, following facility policies
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions in accordance with healthcare standards
• Participate in procedural sedation administration and monitoring
