• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Facility Type: Community hospital with 13 ER beds
• Daily Census: 40-50 patients

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or multi-state Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
• At least 1 year of emergency room or critical care nursing experience
• Proficiency with Meditech charting system
• Charge nurse and community hospital experience preferred
• Ability to provide care for all age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
• Availability to work some holidays
• Smoke/nicotine-free campus
• Travelers within 70 miles of Silver City, NM are considered local and not eligible

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations
• Perform triage, assessment, and management of acute and critical conditions, including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral emergencies
• Administer emergency medications and interventions (intubation, chest tube management, arterial line management, procedural sedation)
• Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias, ABGs, and diagnostic results
• Manage care for ventilated patients, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and behavioral health conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, support staff)
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech
• Participate in floating rotation as required by hospital policy
