Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Ann Arbor, MI 48109 (Michigan healthcare jobs)
• Position: Med/Surg Float Registered Nurse (RN)
• Setting: Medical-Surgical units (urology, ortho, neuro, family medicine, oncology, pulmonary, GI, surgical/medical short stay)
• Contract Type: Travel nursing contract
• Start Date: February 10, 2026
• End Date: April 7, 2026
• Duration: 8 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 8 weeks)
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 on nights and weekends
• Charting System: Epic (Epic experience required)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Previous float experience in Med/Surg required for first-time travel nurses
• BLS certification (must be current prior to start date)
• Epic charting experience required
• Two manager or supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Float between various Med/Surg units as assigned
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical needs
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and monitor patient status
• Perform wound care, tracheostomy care, and manage surgical drains
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols
• Participate in scheduled weekend coverage
