ER RN Job Details

• Location: Elizabethtown, NY (Zip: 12932) – Upstate New York healthcare
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
• Setting: Emergency Room (ER)
• Facility Size: 25 beds (6 ER beds per campus)
• Shift: 12-hour evening shifts
• Hours per Week: 36 (alternating weeks of 3 x 12hr and 4 x 12hr shifts)
• Duration: 4 weeks (Start: 01/02/2026 – End: 02/01/2026)
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Floating: Required between Elizabethtown and Ticonderoga ERs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including 2 years in Emergency Room specialty
• Active New York Registered Nurse license (or proof of application with applied date)
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale
• EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
• Reliable personal or rental transportation (public transportation not accessible)
• Ability to work all scheduled shifts, including every other weekend and holiday
• Professional scrubs (any color)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency care to patients of all ages and diagnoses
• Perform unit-specific procedures: IV therapy, mixing drips, lab draws, EKGs, cardiac monitoring, respiratory treatments
• Manage ventilators in collaboration with physicians and prepare patients for transport
• Document patient care using EPIC-ASAP and manage medications via Pyxis
• Float between ER units at Elizabethtown and Ticonderoga campuses as needed
• Collaborate with ancillary staff (CNA/PCT, unit clerk/secretary) and respiratory/anesthesia support
• Maintain a nurse-patient ratio of 1:6
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation and adapt to posted rotation schedules
