Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (Registered Nurse jobs in Virginia)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown or CVICU nursing
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac events, surgeries, or procedures
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and vital signs; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform cardiac interventions as ordered
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized cardiac care plans
• Educate patients and families on cardiac care, recovery, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards in the Cardiac Care Unit
