• Location: Kealakekua, HI 96750 — Hawaii travel nursing, Kealakekua nursing jobs, Big Island healthcare
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN / Travel Nurse)
• Unit: Labor & Delivery, Nursery, Obstetrics, Postpartum, LDRP (Mother/Baby, couplet care)
• Duration: 13-week contract (Start: January 26, 2026 – End: April 27, 2026)
• Hours: 36 hours per week (72–80 hours every two weeks)
• Shift: 12-hour days
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,470 – $2,600 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• On-site Position: Onsite care at a community hospital

Required Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required prior to start (Hawaii RN licensure)
• Minimum 1 year recent experience in Labor & Delivery and Nursery nursing, including couplet care
• Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring (NST/EFM) skills; experience with L&D fetal strip interpretation
• BLS (American Heart Association) required
• Ability to float and provide clinical support to other hospital departments as needed (not as primary nurse)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive maternal and newborn care across labor, delivery, and postpartum settings (Mother/Baby and L&D)
• Provide couplet care in a unit averaging 45–50 deliveries per month (postpartum/newborn care)
• Perform intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring and respond to clinical changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members (physicians, midwives, neonatal staff) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• May be assigned charge nurse duties (additional compensation provided)
• Float to assist other departments as needed to support hospital operations
