Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Step-Down RN experience (18 months in specialty preferred)
• License: Active RN Multi-State (Compact) license
• Certifications: BLS (required)
• Clinical Skills: IV insertion, PICC/central line management, ability to read cardiac strips, peripheral & arterial blood draws
• Preferred Skills/Equipment: PCA pumps, wound vacs, trach care, ostomy management, Foley care, Dubhoff/NGT placement & management
• Drips/Monitoring: Experience with IV drips (e.g., insulin, heparin, cardiac) and cardiac monitoring/telemetry
• EHR: EPIC experience
• Travel Eligibility: Must reside at least 80 miles from Greenville, NC
• Assessment: Relias exams required upon booking (2 attempts; failure on second attempt may result in pre-start cancellation)

PCU / Palliative Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality PCU-level nursing care for patients receiving inpatient palliative and complex medical/surgical support
• Deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered care focused on symptom control, comfort, and clinical stability
• Manage and monitor central lines/PICC lines, IV therapy, and medication infusions (including insulin and heparin drips)
• Perform comprehensive assessments, interpret telemetry/cardiac strips, and escalate changes in condition appropriately
• Support care for patients with tracheostomies, wound vacs, ostomies, Foley catheters, and enteral tubes (Dubhoff/NGT)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and ancillary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure safe transitions of care
• Document accurately in EPIC and follow unit protocols for patient safety, infection prevention, and quality standards
