Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent ECMO experience in a pediatric hospital or NICU setting
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required (CRT not accepted)
  • Active or pending Massachusetts RRT license – ideal for candidates seeking Massachusetts respiratory therapist jobs
  • BLS certification required
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Two professional references from two of the last three places of employment (must be from different facilities)

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert respiratory care to pediatric patients, including those requiring ECMO support
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the NICU and ECMO unit
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot ECMO equipment
  • Accurately document patient care and progress
  • Participate in patient rounds and contribute to care planning
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
