Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or Nurse Licensure Compact (multi-state) - required for Illinois nursing jobs
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (2–3 years preferred) — experience as an ER Nurse or trauma nurse preferred
• Strong critical thinking, rapid assessment, prioritization, and decision-making skills in emergency care
• Technical proficiency with emergency care equipment (infusion pumps, rapid infusers, cardiac monitors)
• EMR/EHR documentation experience (clinical support and charting)
• Effective communication, teamwork, and emotional resilience in high-pressure healthcare settings
• Preferred: ESI triage experience, TNCC, SANE, and ECRN certifications

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adult, geriatric, pediatric, OB, behavioral health, and trauma patients
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage using ESI guidelines, and initiate evidence-based emergency interventions
• Manage airway, breathing, and circulation; administer medications and IV therapies per protocol
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced emergency equipment and monitors; ensure patient safety
• Document clinical findings and interventions clearly in the EMR to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and patient-centered care in all interactions
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and dress code standards
