- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12 Hour Days (07:00 AM – 07:00 PM)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,470 – $2,600 (competitive travel nurse pay)
Summary
We are seeking an experienced EP Lab RN / Electrophysiology Nurse for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Boston. Ideal candidates have procedural cardiology or EP Lab experience, strong cardiac monitoring skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license (Massachusetts or compact state) — Massachusetts nursing license preferred
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in an EP Lab, IR/EP, Cardiac Cath Lab, or similar procedural cardiology setting
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular pathophysiology, hemodynamics, and arrhythmia management
- Proficiency with cardiac mapping, ablation systems, paging/monitoring equipment, and electronic medical records; Microsoft Office skills
- Current BLS; ACLS preferred or required per facility
- Radiation safety awareness and adherence to shielding and monitoring protocols
- Ability to lift supplies, assist with patient positioning, and respond to emergencies
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Flexible with shift coverage and occasional overtime as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures, catheter ablation, ICD implantation, and cardiac resynchronization therapy
- Prepare, monitor, and recover patients for EP procedures, ensuring appropriate pre- and post-procedure care and education
- Operate and support cardiac mapping, ablation, fluoroscopy, and monitoring equipment; troubleshoot devices in collaboration with EP techs and physicians
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to hemodynamic changes under established protocols
- Educate patients and families on procedure expectations, discharge instructions, and long-term arrhythmia management
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and follow all hospital and regulatory policies
- Participate in continuing education and stay current on electrophysiology best practices and technologies
- Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, patient safety, and compassionate care
