Job Details (Travel Nursing Contract)
- Location: San Antonio, TX 78229
- Unit/Setting: ICU Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical ICU (MSICU/MICU)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 01/13/2026
- End Date: 04/14/2026
- Schedule: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekends: Rotating
- Call: No call required
- Employment Type: Travel RN (On-Site) – Texas nursing job
ICU RN Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/critical care nursing experience (2–3+ years preferred)
- License: Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification
- Clinical Skills: Strong critical thinking, rapid assessment, and ability to succeed in a high-acuity ICU environment
- Preferred: MICU/MSICU background; EMR documentation and/or order entry experience
- Floating: Travel nurses are required to float per facility floating guidelines
Key Responsibilities (Critical Care Nursing)
- Provide safe, patient-centered critical care nursing to a diverse, high-acuity ICU population
- Monitor, assess, and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions; escalate concerns appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans
- Perform and assist with common ICU procedures and care, including chest tubes, tracheostomies, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, arterial lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
- Document accurately and on time in the EMR
- Follow unit guidelines, including badge in/out procedures and taking a full 30-minute lunch
- Maintain professional standards for attendance, punctuality, and unit dress code (navy scrubs; facility appearance policies apply)
