Job Details (Travel Nursing Contract)

• Location: San Antonio, TX 78229
• Unit/Setting: ICU Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical ICU (MSICU/MICU)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 01/13/2026
• End Date: 04/14/2026
• Schedule: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekends: Rotating
• Call: No call required
• Employment Type: Travel RN (On-Site) – Texas nursing job

ICU RN Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/critical care nursing experience (2–3+ years preferred)
• License: Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification
• Clinical Skills: Strong critical thinking, rapid assessment, and ability to succeed in a high-acuity ICU environment
• Preferred: MICU/MSICU background; EMR documentation and/or order entry experience
• Floating: Travel nurses are required to float per facility floating guidelines

Key Responsibilities (Critical Care Nursing)

• Provide safe, patient-centered critical care nursing to a diverse, high-acuity ICU population
• Monitor, assess, and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions; escalate concerns appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans
• Perform and assist with common ICU procedures and care, including chest tubes, tracheostomies, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, arterial lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
• Document accurately and on time in the EMR
• Follow unit guidelines, including badge in/out procedures and taking a full 30-minute lunch
• Maintain professional standards for attendance, punctuality, and unit dress code (navy scrubs; facility appearance policies apply)
