- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,460–$1,540
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years recent Emergency Department RN experience in a high-acuity ED — trauma nurse and cardiac alert experience preferred
- Licensure: Active RN license that meets Texas state requirements (multistate compact accepted where applicable)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC, ENPC, and CPI preferred
- Strong triage skills and critical thinking with proficiency in ESI triage guidelines
- Experience managing STEMI, stroke, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients
- Meditech documentation experience preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred — excellent for Brownsville, TX patient population
- Team-oriented, accountable, punctual, and patient-centered with excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid triage, assessment, and prioritization using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) guidelines
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for trauma, cardiac alerts, stroke, sepsis, behavioral health, and other ED presentations
- Perform and assist with ED procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, wound care, and suturing assistance
- Assist with moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions and cardioversion
- Support airway management and resuscitation interventions including CPR, rapid sequence intubation assistance, and full code response
- Prepare and coordinate patient transport to higher levels of care and liaise with receiving facilities
- Maintain isolation precautions and follow infection prevention protocols
- Document assessments, interventions, and reassessments accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with ED providers, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, timely throughput and excellent patient outcomes
