- Unit: TSIU – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down
- Assignment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 28, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (Night Shift)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,860 – $1,960
- Staffing Ratio: 1:4 RN-to-patient (pod format; assignments by acuity)

Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or valid Compact RN license (North Carolina nursing jobs)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required)
- Minimum 1 year recent PCU, step-down, or telemetry RN experience
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips and telemetry
- EPIC charting experience preferred (electronic medical record experience)
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Must pass Relias exams upon booking (2 attempts allowed)
- Must meet 80-mile local radius rule
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to assignment confirmation; no blocked scheduling permitted
Core Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based progressive care nursing for a diverse PCU patient population, including acute stroke, post-neurosurgical, seizure, multiple sclerosis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome cases
- Perform and document focused assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) when indicated
- Manage invasive devices: arterial lines, central lines, tracheostomies, and lumbar drains; assist with lumbar punctures
- Initiate IVs, perform peripheral and arterial blood draws, and administer IV drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) per protocols
- Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and telemetry surveillance; escalate changes in condition per hospital policy
- Work within a pod-based care model, coordinating multidisciplinary care and communicating patient status changes to the team
- Maintain accurate EPIC charting and documentation to support quality patient care and compliance
