• Unit: Maternal Infant Unit (24 beds) — antepartum, labor & delivery, postpartum, newborn care
• Start Date: February 9, 2026
• End Date: May 11, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680 - $1770
• Weekend/On Call: Every third weekend; 12 hours of call per 4-week schedule

Job Requirements (Labor & Delivery Nurse)

• Minimum 2 years of recent labor & delivery nursing experience (L&D RN, high-acuity maternal care)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Virginia or compact state accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
• Clinical proficiency in vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections (C-sections), antepartum, newborn, and postpartum care
• Experience with GE fetal monitors and EMR systems (Meditech, CPN) preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to collaborate with obstetrics, pediatrics, nursery nurses, and unit leadership

Responsibilities (L&D RN / Labor & Delivery)

• Provide direct patient care and continuous assessment for laboring mothers throughout the birthing process
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using fetal monitoring systems and respond to changes in condition
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections; provide hands-on support during procedures
• Deliver comprehensive antepartum, newborn, and postpartum nursing care, including newborn assessment and early bonding support
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR systems and follow unit protocols
• Uphold safety and security protocols, including infant security measures and safe handoff practices
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure high-quality maternal and neonatal outcomes
