- Job Title: Travel Dialysis Registered Nurse (Travel RN / Dialysis Nurse / Hemodialysis RN)
- Assignment Type: Travel RN – Dialysis
- Location: Tallahassee, FL 32308 (Tallahassee healthcare / Florida nursing jobs)
- Facility: Level 2 Trauma Hospital — Inpatient Renal Dialysis Unit (6 beds)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 2/9/2026 — End: 5/9/2026)
- Shift: 9-hour day shifts, 4 days/week (9:00 AM – 6:30 PM), 36 hours/week
- Weekend/Call: Every other weekend and on-call required
- Orientation: 2 days
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- Self-Scheduling: Available
- Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:2 on the unit, 1:1 at the bedside
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of registered nursing experience
- At least 2 years of recent clinical dialysis experience (Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis required)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Active Compact RN License or Florida Registered Nurse License
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience with Cerner documentation and Pyxis medication systems preferred
- Professional appearance: light blue scrubs, non-slip closed-toe shoes, minimal jewelry, no acrylic nails
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered dialysis care to adults (ages 18–90) with ESRD, diabetes, hypertension, trauma, and sickle cell disease
- Perform hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis procedures using Fresenius K2/T machines, Baxter Home Choice, and MarCor Portable RO machine
- Initiate IVs, perform venipuncture and EKGs, and monitor patient responses and complications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ICU nurses and respiratory therapists to coordinate care
- Accurately document assessments and treatments in Cerner and manage medications via Pyxis
- Participate in scheduled weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations
- Maintain strict infection control, patient safety standards, and unit protocols in the inpatient renal dialysis unit
