ICU RN Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN / critical care nursing experience (required)
- License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact license accepted)
- Certifications (required): BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), CPI
- Certifications (preferred): TNCC
- Traveler Experience: First-time travel nurses welcome
- Documentation: Profile should include a valid driver’s license
Key Responsibilities (ICU / Critical Care)
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing to ICU patients using strong assessment skills and timely clinical judgment.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary care team to plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care.
- Monitor patient status closely and administer/titrate medications and therapies per provider orders and ICU protocols.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and on time in Epic.
- Support patient and family education, communication, and care coordination throughout the ICU stay.
- Maintain compliance with patient safety standards, infection prevention practices, and unit policies.
- Float as needed within the same nursing discipline across local campuses to support patient care needs.
