- Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ER/ED)
- Location: Danville, VA 24541 (On-site) – Virginia healthcare job
- Start Date: 02/03/2026
- End Date: 05/05/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks (travel nurse contract)
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours (guaranteed)
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Shift Hours: 19:00–07:00 (7p–7a)
- Weekends: Rotating/as needed
- Call: None
- Float: As needed
- Openings: 2
- Orientation: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays
- Patient Population: All ages (adult & pediatric)
- Unit Snapshot: 31 beds + 2 triage rooms (includes behavioral health/acute utilization)
- Typical Ratios: 1:4–1:6 (may vary with volume/acuity)
- Documentation/EHR: MedHost (ED) and Meditech (as applicable)
ER Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of recent Emergency Department (ER/ED) RN experience (high-acuity preferred)
- License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements apply)
- Required Certifications (active prior to start): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Handle with Care, and PALS or ENPC
- Professional Fit: Professional, positive, compassionate, team-oriented
- Compliance: Ability to complete travel nurse onboarding requirements, including required screening and documentation
Emergency Department (ER) RN Responsibilities
- Provide RN coverage within the Emergency Department based on unit needs, patient volume/acuity, and established department workflows
- Support ED operations such as triage and patient flow as assigned by the unit
- Document care in the designated EHR systems (MedHost in the ED and Meditech as applicable)
- Work collaboratively with the ED care team to support safe, timely care delivery
- Practice with awareness that some ED beds may be utilized for behavioral health/acute patients, following facility policies and unit guidance
