  • Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry, Night Shift (Travel Nurse)
  • Location: Orangeburg, SC 29118 (Orangeburg County, South Carolina nursing jobs)
  • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital (286 staffed beds)
  • Unit: 3 West – Med/Surg Telemetry
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 7, 2026 – July 7, 2026)
  • Shift: 3 x 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours/week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Openings: 3 Telemetry RN positions
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 – $1650 (competitive travel nurse pay)
  • Charting / EMR: Epic EMR (experience preferred)
  • Scrub Color: Royal Blue
  • Parking: Free on-site parking
  • Orientation: 16 hours (includes competency modules)

Required Qualifications — Med/Surg Telemetry RN

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg and Telemetry RN experience required (first-time travel nurses accepted)
  • License: Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license in hand prior to start
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required
  • Clinical Skills: Telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, dysrhythmia management, peripheral IV care, IV starts, oxygen therapy, isolation precautions/PPE
  • Preferred: Community hospital experience and Epic EMR experience
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics (medical-surgical and telemetry)
  • Health Requirements: Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
  • Float Requirement: Willingness to float within scope to other units as needed

Primary Responsibilities — Telemetry Nurse & Med/Surg RN

  • Provide safe, evidence-based Med/Surg and telemetry nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, CAD, ESRD, chronic respiratory disease, and arrhythmias
  • Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, recognize & manage dysrhythmias, and activate rapid response or code protocols when indicated
  • Administer medications and IV therapies, manage oxygen delivery, and ensure strict infection control practices
  • Start and maintain peripheral IVs, coordinate diagnostics, treatments, and consults with interdisciplinary teams
  • Document accurate, timely assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Epic EMR
  • Collaborate with PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, and unit clerical staff to optimize patient care
  • Complete orientation and required competency modules prior to shift start
