- Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care / Med-Surg / Telemetry (Travel RN)
- Location: Highlands, NC 28741 — Blue Ridge Mountains; nursing jobs in North Carolina
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570–$1,650/week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
- Start Date: February 2, 2026
- End Date: May 4, 2026
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: Mixed 12-hour shifts (typically 3 shifts/week)
- Unit: Acute Care — 24 beds
- Patient Ratio: 6–7:1
- Documentation: Cerner EMR (experience preferred)
- Dress Code: Navy top with white bottoms or all navy scrubs
- On-site: This is an on-site travel nursing position
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or valid multistate compact RN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year recent acute care, med-surg, or telemetry RN experience
- Experience with geriatric care or inpatient rehab (swing bed) patients required
- Wound care skills and comfort assisting with minor procedures preferred
- Experience documenting in Cerner EMR preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to deliver concierge-level patient service
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to acute care, geriatric, and swing bed patients
- Perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient progress
- Accurately document care in Cerner EMR and maintain effective communication with the care team
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient-centered care
- Provide wound care and assist with minor procedures as needed
- Adapt to variable shifts and support unit workflow, especially when tech or HUC coverage is limited
- Maintain professionalism and contribute to a positive, team-oriented unit culture
