• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care / Med-Surg / Telemetry (Travel RN)
• Location: Highlands, NC 28741 — Blue Ridge Mountains; nursing jobs in North Carolina
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570–$1,650/week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
• Start Date: February 2, 2026
• End Date: May 4, 2026
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: Mixed 12-hour shifts (typically 3 shifts/week)
• Unit: Acute Care — 24 beds
• Patient Ratio: 6–7:1
• Documentation: Cerner EMR (experience preferred)
• Dress Code: Navy top with white bottoms or all navy scrubs
• On-site: This is an on-site travel nursing position

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or valid multistate compact RN license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year recent acute care, med-surg, or telemetry RN experience
• Experience with geriatric care or inpatient rehab (swing bed) patients required
• Wound care skills and comfort assisting with minor procedures preferred
• Experience documenting in Cerner EMR preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to deliver concierge-level patient service

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to acute care, geriatric, and swing bed patients
• Perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient progress
• Accurately document care in Cerner EMR and maintain effective communication with the care team
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient-centered care
• Provide wound care and assist with minor procedures as needed
• Adapt to variable shifts and support unit workflow, especially when tech or HUC coverage is limited
• Maintain professionalism and contribute to a positive, team-oriented unit culture
