Job Details – Travel Nurse Dialysis RN (Night Shift)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,640–$1,730
- Position: Travel Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) / Dialysis Nurse
- Location: Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 (Alabama dialysis jobs, Tuscaloosa nursing jobs)
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract (travel nurse)
- Start Date: April 13, 2026
- End Date: May 31, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:00) – night shift dialysis RN
- Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed (option for 48 hours/week)
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays as required
- Patient Facing: Yes – direct patient care in dialysis and bedside settings
- On-Site: Yes – must be onsite at assigned campus
- Number of Openings: 3
- EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Dress Code: Solid navy scrubs
- Parking: Available
Dialysis Nurse Requirements / Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 recent year in acute dialysis nursing (hemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis)
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- License: Active Alabama RN license or compact RN license (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Certifications: BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
- Preferred: Professional nursing certification in dialysis, nephrology, or related specialty
- Skills: Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills; ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
- Flexibility: Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed
Dialysis Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality dialysis care including pre-, intra-, and post-treatment assessments and monitoring for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients
- Initiate, manage, and discontinue dialysis treatments per provider orders and facility protocols
- Collaborate with Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technicians (CCHT), nephrology providers, and fellow RNs to coordinate patient care in a team-based setting
- Work within established staffing ratios (1:2 RN:patient or 1:3 RN+CCHT:patient)
- Operate and troubleshoot dialysis equipment including Fresenius and Gambro machines
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Meditech EMR
- Float between DCH Regional and Northport campuses and provide bedside or in-unit dialysis as assigned
- Maintain a professional, compassionate approach with patients, families, and team members
