Travel RN Job Details

• Interdisciplinary Support: IV team, respiratory services, PT, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, unit secretary

Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience required, including 2 years Stepdown and 1 year Med-Surg/Telemetry
• Licensure: Active West Virginia RN license or Compact RN license (pending license acceptable)
• Certifications: AHA BLS and AHA ACLS (required)
• Core Skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, rhythm interpretation/strip reading
• Preferred Cardiac Stepdown Skills: post-MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, heparin protocols, blood product administration, central line/PICC care, chest tubes/surgical drains, wound vac care, oxygen therapy and BiPAP/CPAP support, rapid response/code team utilization
• References: Minimum of 2 manager/charge references within the past 2 years
• Reliability: Strong attendance is essential; limited call-offs are expected and missed shifts may need to be made up

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients, including post-op and post-procedure monitoring
• Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry; recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and clinical changes promptly
• Administer medications and therapies per protocol (including anticoagulation/heparin protocols as applicable)
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop/implement care plans, and document accurately in Cerner EMR
• Support respiratory needs including oxygen delivery and non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP) when indicated
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary partners to support patient flow, patient education, and discharge planning
• Maintain infection prevention standards, isolation/PPE compliance, and patient safety best practices
